halloween
we had the halloween event at the domes friday night. it was great but under advertised so the turnout wasn't that great. we're already talking about how to improve it for next year. this shot is from the largest of the domes during the light show - the orange ring is the top of the dome right next door and the blue is a huge planet earth hanging up in the top. you can see the moon in the upper right
paul got to scare lots of kids with his grim reaper costume.. he liked that way too much. he sat on that bench and no one was sure if he was real or not.. they wouldn't go close enough to find out. the glowing eyes on that costume would go on and off. it was pretty cool
paul is 6'6" - this guy was well over 7 feet. he was a little too scary for some of the kids. I had to have him come with me to the ladies room to show a little girl that he was just a regular guy - she was freaked and refused to come out
we also went to a local park where they pile bleachers and picnic tables up and put everyones carved pumpkins up. looks pretty cool with hundreds of pumpkins lit up
paul put on his costume to scare the trick or treaters at the house. something about the grim reaper kicked back watching tv cracked me up
I had to dig up my hibiscus and put him in a pot to bring in the house so he didn't freeze to death. I think it likes it inside.. keeps blooming in 4 different colors
saw a red bellied woodpecker in the back yard today... so pretty
we're supposed to have some nice temps this week... yay! I'll take 60's.. much better than the 48 we had
